A funny thing happened on the way to work today..

...there was another bomb in Kollupitiya...
Im ok. But I was about 5 minutes near it, and the smell was nasty. I usually get off and walk that way to office. Id phoned in this morning to say Id be a little late. Well ,ok quite late considering Im normally at office by 7 am.I had to check on my bike and do some extreme banking and it was 10.40 by the time I reached this junction.
today I had been tempted to get down in Maradana and get a flyer for the Bajaj CT 100 (drool) after which I got in the NEXT bus and thus was about ten minutes later than I would have been.
Life is funny,eh. I wow to hencefourth give in to sudden temptations more often.

Ya, its nothing but God’s protection (irrelevant of which faith you belong to) and Fate. You were not meant to be there at that time.

Anyway thank God your safe…

My office is very, very close to where the bomb when off and the blast sent tremor waves through our office and even a few windows cracked for the force of the bomb.

But thank God everyone is ok.

Never in my life have I been so close to the seen of a bomb before and it scared the shit out of me.

With all due respect, why in creation would God want to protect me? there was this 2 year old toddler in the previous blast near the Pak Embassy, wasnt she more worthy of being saved? and imagine what her grandpa would have been thinking sitting on the ground crying ?is there something Im missing here?

I don’t think it is much of the Gods will. It is more of the Praba’s will. I’m glade Praba didn’t want to bomb you. (Assuming Praba is not God’s will by the way – may be he is – I’m waiting to ask that form the God if I ever met him – I will post here if I ever got a chance to clear that up)

The funny thing about a bomb is every one want to be a part of that experience. Everyone say how narrow escape they had because of the bus get late, didn’t went to work that day, just passed the same place a week back, etc.. It is not fair for the people really experienced the bomb – I mean the one who lose hearing for 10 minute – get up bleeding all over – or was looking at the spot floating above.

I guess most of the people in Colombo have experience some sort of bomb experience one time or another.

Hey.. why not you?

It is sad to see the terror had come even closer to our doorsteps. It is high time a decision be made by people. Democracy always said to be the will of majority. Then never this ethnic disturbance be solved. Because minority will never win in democracy. We public who ultimately decide who reign ov er us must decide soon and bring solution to the problem than dying everyday like what happened on friday.

Anyhow try our best to safeguard ourselves with the wisdom that is given by the Almighty.

Keep writing. I am trying to apprecite your pattern. Wow, I had gone through all the archives 11 months, it's interesting.

ive thought about that long and hard. I have about 50k in the bank and its dropping. Ive done my share of envious sighing when four wheeled vehicles go past. and now Im resigned to the fact that unless someone really rich dies and names me as their heir(unlikely) or one of the men in my life wins a lottory(even more unlikely) I wont ever be able to afford a car. But Im happy that I have feet so far.and they are pretty NEAT feet too!( sometimes I look down at them and say wow!) In the meantime, Im looking for someone deserving to donate a wheelchair too, so that in my next incarnation I am assured of feet too. Im not being silly here, Im Buddhist and a very serious one at that. If you know anyone let me know?preferably an ex forces chap.
