point of view

I totally agree with you, Mr Evil about hypocrasy in Sri Lanka- I see it all over the place-
man would I like to get my hands on one of those Point Of View Guns from the Hitchikers Guide -
now for example what would people do to us ,if we ,or the Anti War bunch , were to crash one of the Saadhu meetings and start shouting and waving placards on their stage ??

and on the subject of For- War sadhus , I have it on good information that there are about 30,000 of the happy souls in robes in this country. If they want war , why dont they join the army - it would be quite uplifting to Army Moralle, dont ya think ?
If they need to fight for the Dharma Dveepa - (and maybe they can find ways to justify such a fight ), fight with the rest of the army boys and when Jaffna is resplendent once more, they could come back and put their robes back on - what do you say ?

"But Master, how do I not contend with a man that would contend with me?" -- Caine
"In a heart that is one with nature, though the body contends, there is no violence, and in the heart that is not one with nature, though the body be at rest, there is always violence. Be, therefore, like the prow of a boat. It cleaves water, yet it leaves in its wake water unbroken." -- Master Po

Most armies have a religious member in the field with them. Does our army send religious support? I'm not sure about that. But you're right.. this country is full of hypocrites. And i can't deny that at times even i've been one. But atleast i see my faults and i try to correct them. Some people just go at it like lunatics. Disappointment is not in their actions but in their inability to realize themselves. Love the blog! Keep it up!

we could always point fingers at each other and question one and other about the present situation. But does it help to resolve our anything around us. I withold no grudge against any religion or followers of that. I do have friends from all religion, majority, minoity in this country, one of a third generation family friends. As for my understanding i look at religious leaders or followers to teach others they way in the manner of love and support and caring, rather to pursue higher degree of social power to pronounce war on a community that is hanging by a thread which could disrupt the tranquality of others too.. doesnt those higher religious followers get that??

Disciple Caine : 'Master, do we seek victory in contention?'
Master Kan : 'Seek rather not to contend.'
Disciple Caine : 'But shall we not then be defeated?'
Master Kan : 'We know that where there is no contention, there is neither defeat nor victory. The supple willow does not contend against the storm, yet it survives.'"

you are right about hypocrisy.
it is however common on both sides of the 'peace debate'

peaceniks and warmongers both would not mind what happens to others as long as they are not harmed.
and they cannot even admit to themselves they are doing that.

this would be true of both the participants the so called 'peace' march and the idiotic monks who physically interfered with it .

both suffer from an inability to, think for themselves and/or being honest to themselves.
